Mission 

To train qualified and licensed physical therapists (PTRP) in advanced orthopedic manual physical therapy (OMPT) specialty and sub-specialty practice employing the mentorship of experienced clinicians, incorporating evidence-informed practice in providing quality care and improved patient outcomes. The program delivers orthopedic clinical experiences, mentoring, and didactic education to advance the level of orthopedic physical therapy practitioners who exercise ethical responsibility, evidence-informed practice dedicated to meeting the long-term health, wellness and specialized needs of the Filipinos.

Objectives

 

  1. OMPT-SG will provide education focusing on evidence-based and patient-centered care in all elements of the patient/client management model.
  2. OMPT-SG will lead the competencies in advanced orthopedic manual PT practice across the continuum of care, including orthopedic acute care, chronic musculoskeletal pain, and outpatient musculoskeletal care.
  3. OMPT-SG will lead a program that meets the credentialing criteria of the Philippine Association of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (PAOMPT) an MO of the International Federation of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physical Therapists (IFOMPT).
  4. OMPT-SG faculty will evaluate the program performance according to the credentialing requirements of PAOMPT and develop appropriate strategies to improve program outcomes through formal and informal discussion at regularly scheduled and other face to face meetings.
  5. OMPT-SG will provide post-professional education in advanced practice that integrates the current best evidence orthopedic manual physical therapy and foundational sciences in orthopedic rehabilitation.
  6. OMPT-SG will produce graduates of OMPT diploma who will demonstrate competencies in advanced orthopedic manual practice as evidenced by attainment and passing as Fellows of PAOMPT (FPAOMPT).

 

 

Accreditation

OMPTSG Diploma (Fellowship Program) is the official OMPT Program in the Philippines under the International Federation of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physical Therapists (IFOMPT)

Accredited by the Philippine Association of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (PAOMPT). 

PAOMPT is the official MO of the Philippines to IFOMPT.
